I offer therapy to individuals 16 years old and up, looking to address a variety of issues related to relationship challenges, addiction, co-dependency, anxiety, depression, identity issues, life transitions, sexuality, parenting, and marriage. Sessions are 50 minutes in length. 75 minute sessions are available upon request.
Relationships are incredibly rewarding, but can also be incredibly challenging as well. I work with couples to help them recognize the patterns within their relationships that are keeping them stuck, resentful and unfulfilled. Couples therapy is provided in either 50 minute sessions or 75 minute sessions.
How long does therapy typically last?
An individual therapy session takes place weekly for 50 minutes at a time. How long you may partake in therapy is more complex and as varied as each individual. Some people may only require 3-6 months, (depending on goals and issues present) and some may require or desire real depth work that lends itself to years of rewarding and rich exploration into the inner psyche. I can provide either to fit your needs and goals.
This may seem like a big commitment, but the rewards are immeasurable. Its an investment in yourself and your relationships, and I can't think of anything else worth investing in more!
Do I really need therapy? I'm not crazy.
Therapy is for everyone! Everyone on the planet experiences points in their life where they feel lost, confused, hurt, anxious, insecure, grief, angry, depressed, vulnerable or out of control. None of which makes you abnormal or crazy in any way at all. We all experience times when more support and contemplation can do us a lot of good, and there is no shame in that. It just makes us beautifully human.
How often will I need to attend?
Therapy once a week is standard, this is because that is the frequency that works best for most people and for most issues. If there is a more severe issue at hand that requires more care and attention, then sessions 2x per week may be recommended.
Many people want to do therapy every other week. This may be fine for your needs as well. However, I ask that weekly therapy occur for at least 2-3 months before we drop down to every other week in an effort to get a substantial amount to rapport and momentum going. Typically, if therapy is occurring less than once a week, progress is significantly slower and much less potent. People tend to end up in therapy over a longer period of time as a result (this in of itself may not be a bad thing, but it is usually not most people’s goal).
Dropping to once every other week is typically reserved for when you feel like you have spent lots of time and energy in therapy, have made progress toward your goals and are contemplating graduating soon.
Whatever your frequency preference however, lets discuss it together and find a frequency that best fits your needs, and lifestyle.
How and when do I make a payment?
Payment is due at the time of session. I accept Cash, Check, all Credit Cards and FSA, HSA/Flex spending plans and Zelle.
Do you take my insurance?
I am not accepting insurance at this time.
I am considered an out-of-network provider. What is that? This means I can provide you with a monthly Super-bill (invoice) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you require a super-bill, please let me know ahead of time and I'll be happy to provide you with this on a monthly basis.
How much per session?
50 minute individual therapy sessions are $185.
75 minute individual therapy sessions are $275.
50 minute couples therapy session is $225.
75 minute couples therapy session is $300.
